About the Author

Adam faced several family and personal challenges as a young man, and so saw life as being hard, unjust and unfair.  After living through the Port Arthur Massacre though, as a 22 year old, in which 35 people were killed and 23 wounded in a mass shooting event in Tasmania, his perspective changed significantly. 

Feeling lucky to have survived that day, and realising how fleeting life could be, Adam was inspired to live life to the fullest. Through hard work, a good sense of humour, and a desire to simply live a life worth living,  Adam went on to travel and work around the world; having amazing experiences and making great friends along the way.  With a love of adventure, a gratitude for nature (especially the ocean) and having a good laugh, Adam is now a successful business executive and a happily married father of two boys, living in beautiful Sydney, Australia. 

Be Stoic, Be Happy was written as a simple guide for teenagers and young adults, trying to find their way in the world, although it is just as suitable for any reader looking for an introduction to Stoicism, or just seeking a way to be happier. 

This is Adams’ first book; after concluding how Stoic ways of thinking really can underpin living a happier life. 

Be Stoic Be Happy is a book he wishes someone else had written for him when he was a young man, and is dedicated to his two sons.
